Art is my ability to express myself. I love being able to work with color, the wonders of watercolor and to paint with boldness.
About the Artist
Art became part of my life in the 8th grade. My serious studies began at Pierce Junior College in Woodland Hills, California. I was accepted at Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, California. I furthered my studies at Chico State University of California and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art.
I had a few computer graphic classes which allowed me to work in Print shops and at Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island in the graphics design area. At NAS Whidbey my Petroleum design won the annual award for presentation. While employed as an Art Director at Ft. Richardson, Alaska I taught tole painting, and air brush. Commissioned works include horse paintings and wall art, paintings on boxes and furniture.
Art is my ability to express myself. I love being able to work with color, the wonders of watercolor and to paint with boldness. My favorite medium is watercolor, but I like experimenting with other mediums as well. During my early years, I experimented with bleach on black paper and loved the bold effect it has. Sometimes I visualize what I should put on canvas from reading the word of God. Other times, I am given a vision from a dream or revelation. My favorite subject matter is the majestic horse. I also love and do well with the human figure.
The Lord has given me this gift of artistic expression and I propose to use it for His Glory.
