About the Artist
Andrea Flynn uses jewelry to illuminate the intersection of elements found between nature and modular production. The high mirror like shine of the metal engages the viewer’s intrigue as the piece reveals its volume with the movement of the wearer’s body.
The artist has long been fascinated by the relational quality of jewelry as an outward expression of individuality, personal beliefs, and social status. The repetition in Andrea’s jewelry is intended to evoke a deeper sense of the universality of our human experience.
Andrea Flynn worked 5 years in fine jewelry sales, often designing custom works.

How the Jewelry is Made
Each piece is fashioned with a desire to create unique art that is both wearable and engaging to its viewers. The movement of the body upon which the jewelry rests becomes part of the sculpture itself, giving movement to an otherwise static object.
The material used, Argentium™ Sterling Silver, contributes perfectly to the overall aesthetic of the jewelry because of its high shine, durability, and tarnish resistance. I purchase the Argentium™ Sterling Silver from a supplier here in the US and it arrives as sheet metal which I cut, form, and solder by hand. The jewelry’s asymmetry and repetition mirror the microcosm of nature so often overlooked in our daily lives.
